How to Launch a WordPress Site

01

Access WordPress Hosting

  1. Login to Your the platform: Start by logging into AIO HQ and navigating to the Sites tab.
  2. Ensure WordPress Hosting Is Active: Ensure that your WordPress hosting is active. If not, you’ll need to enable it from the Sites section or contact support to activate this for you.
  3. Access WordPress Setup: Once WordPress hosting is activated, click on + Create WordPress to begin setting up your site.

Fill in Site and User Details

  1. Enter Site Information: Provide the name of your website and other relevant details like the admin email address.
TIPUse a strong and memorable site name as it will be visible on your dashboard and possibly to visitors.
  1. Set Up Admin User: Create the WordPress admin account by filling in the username, email, and password.
  • Remember: This account will have full access to the WordPress backend, so choose strong credentials.

Wait for Installation

  1. Installation Process: The WordPress installation typically takes 10-15 minutes. During this time, the system will set up your site’s database, files, and initial configuration.
  2. Access WordPress Dashboard: Once the installation is complete, you’ll see options to access the WordPress Dashboard,manage domains, and configure additional settings.

Manage Your WordPress Site

  1. Access Your Dashboard: Click on the WordPress Dashboard link to access the admin portal of your new site.

  1. User Management: In AIO HQ's WordPress section, manage users by adding, editing, or removing them as needed.
  2. Plugin and Theme Management: These tabs give you a comprehensive view of all plugins and themes installed on your WordPress site.

To access and manage your WordPress plugins and themes:

  1. Navigate to the WordPress Plugin and Themes Tab: On these pages, you will see all installed plugins and themes listed, along with their version details. The Installed Version column shows the current version, and if an update is available, it is indicated here as well.

To update a plugin or theme:

  • Find the item you want to update in the list.
  • You can click on the toggle to the activate or deactivate it, or delete it if no longer needed.
  1. Backup & Restore:
  • Automatic Backups: The system automatically backs up your site daily at 05:00 AM CST. You’ll see backups for the last three days.
  • Manual Backups: You can also initiate manual backups anytime by clicking on the backup option.

Add and Manage Domains

  1. Connect Your Domain: To make your site live, you’ll need to connect your domain. Click on Add Domain in the dashboard sub-tab and enter the domain name you wish to connect.
  2. Update DNS Settings:
  • Add A and CNAME Records: Update your domain’s DNS settings by adding the required A and CNAME records. These settings are usually available through your domain registrar.
  • Verify Domain: After updating DNS, click Verify to confirm the connection.
  1. Set as Primary Domain: Once the domain is connected, you can set it as the primary domain for your WordPress site.
TIPIf the domain doesn’t verify immediately, wait a few hours and try again as DNS changes can take time to propagate.

Import an Existing WordPress Site (Optional)

  1. Install Migration Plugin: If you’re migrating an existing WordPress site, install the All-in-One WP Migration plugin on both the old and new sites.
  2. Export and Import Site:
  • Export: On your old site, use the plugin to export the entire site as a file.
  • Import: On your new the platform-hosted WordPress site, import the file using the same plugin.
NOTEIf your site is larger than 512 MB, you may need to purchase the unlimited extension for the plugin.

Configure Advanced Settings

  1. FTP Access: If needed, configure FTP access through the advanced settings in AIO HQ. This feature may still be on the roadmap and not yet live.
  2. Communication Settings: Adjust any communication settings related to your site’s operation and notifications.

Finalize and Launch Your Site

  1. Test Site Speed: Use tools like Google PageSpeed Insights or GTmetrix to test your site’s loading speed.
  2. Make Site Live: After all configurations are complete, your site is ready to go live. Ensure all DNS settings are correct and the domain is properly connected.
  3. Monitor and Optimize: Regularly monitor your site’s performance and make adjustments as needed to optimize speed, security, and user experience.
